Heritage

On December 26th 1877 the first Birrificio Angelo Poretti brew saw the day light in Valganna, a small valley located in the North of Italy near the Alps. That’s when our story began.

A story that has continued for almost 140 years.

ANGELO PORETTI set off from Varese as a young man. He toured Europe and discovered BEER, which became the inspiration for his GREAT DREAM: to bring good beer to Italy and adapt it to the tastes of Italian people. AUSTRIA, BOHEMIA, BAVARIA: Angelo Poretti met the BEST BREWMASTERS, learned their recipes and the secrets of their craft.

Upon returning to Italy he invested his life savings to build his own brewery in VALGANNA, a location specifically chosen for its extremely pure spring water, a vital element for a good beer.

Today, as in the past, that same AUTHENTIC PASSION for the Product lives on in the family of beers from the Birrificio Angelo Poretti, which are brewed using different hops varieties added at different stages of the production process.
