Italy exported nearly 2 billion euros worth of organic products last year, reaching second place as exporter of organic produce in Europe. The organic trend is having an impact on several food and drink categories, including wine, beer and spirits. In particular, sales of organic beer have been continuously increasing for the past decade, proving the hoppy drink is as popular as ever. While North America dominates the organic beer market, Europe is growing rapidly with Germany and Spain showing the biggest potential. Malt is the most popular crop but hops and other cereals are also on the rise.

In order to satisfy this increasing high demand, Birrificio Angelo Poretti has just launched the 4 Luppoli Bio , their first organic beer.  “Organic is more than a trend for us” said Alberto Frausin, CEO of Carlsberg Italy. “We have invested two years of research in this product which is a high quality beer, fully in line with our production standards and company values.”

The 4 Luppoli Bio is currently only available on the Italian market however Poretti’s offer in the UK includes a variety of five different choices: from popular lager-style beers, 3 Luppoli and 4 Luppoli Originale; to the intense amber of 5 Luppoli Bock Chiara, 6 Luppoli Bock Rossa and 9 Luppoli Indian Pale Ale, the range is perfect for high-end casual and fine dining alike.
