In 1956, Luigi moved to Cellole, a town on the northern border of the Campania region – an unspoilt territory. In 1976, along with his brother Giuseppe, he began the production of buffalo mozzarella.
Cilento is now a leading Italian dairy company, producing specialty fresh cheese, all whilst preserving the authentic tradition, from generation to generation. The cheese is crafted from water buffalo milk and the company products are: Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, Buffalo Burrata and Buffalo Ricotta. The modern factory is situated on a 100.000 sqm area, 15.000 sqm of which is dedicated to the production plant. State-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technologies guarantee true quality and food safety. The new plant, current under developement, will offer an additional 7.500 sqm production flor.
