Torre di Montemaggio IGT is a red Tuscan wine made from pure Merlot. It is one of the fist wines that was produced at Montemaggio. Its name is derived from the 14th century tower that once stood above the old Roman road between Siena and Florence. An intense ruby colour, elegant taste, delicate bouquet, full of berry tones characterize this wine, whose full flavour and balanced acidity is highly esteemed abroad as well.

Growing system: Predominantly Spurred Cordon and Alberello.
Refinement: at least 1 year in the bottle
Colour: Intense and profound brilliant ruby red.
Nose: Elegant, fresh, perfume of red fruits.
Palate: Full body with velvety tannins and a pleasant freshness and persistence.
Ideal serving temperature: 17-18°C. Preferably opened an hour beforehand.
Matching: It is ideal with red meat, game and strong cheeses. An ideal companion to elaborate courses or dishes that are more experimental.
Other details
Following a careful selection of the best Merlot grapes, fermentation takes place for about 30 days at a controlled temperature (not higher than 26°C) in stainless steel and wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation undergoes in stainless steel vats. Maturation follows for about 18 months in barrels mainly for the second passage and partially in tonneaux (5 Hl).
