The Torrigiani family joined "the world of wine" from 1280 when their ancestor Ciardo Torrigiani, who signed up to the Vinther's Guild in that same year, opened a thriving business in Florence that developed successfully in Italy and then in all of the Europe. A part of the Torrigiani family moved to Nuremberg, in Germany, where they sold wine and made a conspicuous fortune that was invested in terrain of their origin: Tuscany.
