Morellino di Scansano DOCG, this wine in our spearhead. obtained by 85% of Sangiovese Grapes and 15% Merlot grapes. Hand selected grapes and harvest. We chose the Merlot for opposed characteristics to the Sangiovese. the two grapes are separated during all the process of fermentation and maturation, than merlot it's aged in big tonneaux barrels, french allier oak for 8 months. the Sangiovese it remains in steel until the blending process.
Wine has a long aging in bottle before to be selled, almost one year and half.
the result is a veru fine and elegant wine, clean, with a big contrast between merlot scent at the nose and the explosion of Sangiovese freshness in mouth. this is the wish to obtain a wine aged in oak, a full body wine, structured, with plums berryes, withered flowers, wonderful fruit and herbal smell, preserving Sangiovese character, so the freshness.
we can call it a sructured wine, but expression of a terroir really mineral.
at 350 mt up the sea level all the grapes are on the top of the hill on steep terrain.
a big temperature range of more than 23 ° during the day helps the preserve the freschness.
