Fiammetta Inga, mother of the current owner, moved to Podere Marella in 1974. She was one of the first adopters of the agriturismo (farm guesthouse) concept, opening her home to guests in the early 1980's.
She was also one of the first Italian wine makers to go organic, having turned to organic wine production and farming soon after moving to Podere Marella.
After undergoing extensive renovation involving the upgrade of all indoor and outdoor facilities and the addition of the swimming pool, pool house and tennis court, the house reopened its doors to guests in 2013.
